I came to know about Wendy Angulo initially as a writer and member of the powerful band of womyn known as NYC Latina Writers Group, and discovered that she was set to create a unique poetry festival in the borough of Queens entitled ‘Canvas Of Words’, which I had the opportunity to attend. As a fellow event coordinator, I was quite impressed with the high production value of the event, and the various tie-ins to different cultural entities in New York City as her core team and talent roster stretched across many of the city’s poetic families and also included visual and even culinary artists. Her expansion as an event coordinator now includes management of powerful seasoned poets, and even a new Open Mic to attract new talent in her home borough of Queens. There is sure to be even more, as Wendy Angulo Productions is a star on the rise!
