Kathy Reyes- Day 20- 31daysofWomen

“I believe excellence is a choice. It’s a decision you make and commit to. You set your standards high, you require more of yourself to reach the goals you’ve set out to achieve. You stay focused on your direction and have faith in your path. You are excellence, excellence is you…but you have to want it and be willing to work hard to achieve it and even harder to maintain it.” ~ Kathy Reyes – Devoted Mother, Woman Activist, Motivational Speaker, Business Woman & Accountant

I met Kathy a few years back when she was expecting her baby boy and mine was seven months old; we saw each other a few times a few years later at friends kid’s birthday parties and we developed a friendship that has grown stronger through the years.

Kathy is one of those woman I admire for being able to manage being a mom, a daughter, a sister, a friend and still have time for herself. Kathy is the mother of five children and she wakes up every morning and hits the gym at 3:00am, yes 3:00am! She then returns home to get all five children ready and get to work, return home to cook, review homework, be the “cheerleader mom” at every soccer, football, basketball game and still have time to check on you, support you and be present. She also makes sure that her family enjoys time together by scheduling camping trips and summer vacations every year. She believes that no matter what you must enjoy life with your loved ones and create memories.

That’s the number one thing I admire and appreciate about Kathy, no matter how busy her life is, she is always present and when I mean present I don’t refer to the physical presence but the emotional presence, she makes sure she calls you or messages you to let you know first that she loves you and then that she is proud of you for what you do and lastly she schedules a get together to simply give you a warm hug, share a good laugh and tell you again how much she loves you.

Kathy is dedicated, determined and always full of positive energy! She is definitely an inspiration and a woman all around.
