Since I first met Wendy Angulo while I was organizing the Queens Literary Town Hall for Queens Council on the Arts, I was immediately struck by her fire, focus, and drive. She is one of those people who could somehow stand out in a crowd of movers and shakers – everyone has a dream, everyone has a passion, but Wendy makes hers WORK – and shows others how they can do the same. She is a connector, a culture creator, an advocate for the arts, and a tireless promoter. It’s not just about her unique events, it’s the opportunities she creates and the message she spreads – that artists can be compensated and passions can be navigated into paths to a greater future. Wendy also has a natural instinct for working with captivating performers – the kind that not only entertain, but bring tears to your eyes, or shake you right down to your bones.
